rolling stones

Their hair turned white many years ago (although they do their best to hide it), but when they get up on the stage, they seem like a group of super enthusiastic newcomers.  With the energy and daring expected only of those who have not yet reached thirty, the Rolling Stones are unique and unbeatable.

Their Satanic Majesties went all out last night for their one and only concert in Spain and the venue chosen for the occasion was the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.  The concert formed a part of the 2014 On Fire Tour and more than 50,000 people were fortunate enough to enjoy two hours of the very best rock and roll ever.

The tour had to be suspended last March and April due to the tragic death of Mick Jagger’s girlfriend since 2001.  The group learned of the devastating news when they were touring in Australia. It seems that the ex model and designer L´Wren Scott committed suicide.

As an interesting anecdote, we can say that Mick Jagger, who is now 70 years old, can be officially considered the “the Great Grandfather of Rock”, as his grand-daughter Assisi  just gave birth to a little girl.

On the eve of the concert, as has become his custom, Ron Wood, one of the members of the famous group, came to have dinner at Botín.  The people strolling along the Cuchilleros Street were astonished to see the rock star enjoying a relaxing smoke in front of our restaurant.

If we were to add up the ages of the four Rolling Stone members, they would total 285 years… almost as old as Botín is.
